Therapy for Moms in Raleigh, NC
Sometimes finding your footing starts with having the space to figure it out.
It’s 9:40 p.m. The lunches are packed, the permission slip is signed, and you’re answering one more work email from the couch. Nobody asked you to. You just can’t stop.
You snapped at your kid this morning, and now it’s replaying on a loop. Your partner asked what’s wrong and you said “nothing,” because explaining would take energy you don’t have.
If you’re searching for a therapist for moms, you probably look fine to everyone around you. Inside, you feel like you’re letting people down, one small thing at a time.
For the one who remembers everything, and gets asked how she’s doing by no one.
There’s an unspoken expectation that a mom should be able to hold it all. The kids, the job, the partner, the house, and everyone’s feelings. Nobody announced it. Somehow it landed on you.
So you handle it. And somewhere along the way, it gets easy to lose sight of yourself.
Most of the moms I see are capable, driven women with full calendars and a list in their head that never gets shorter. Nobody handed you a manual for this version of life, and nobody mentioned that the mental load would be its own full-time job.
Two things can be true at the same time. You can love your kids, your work, and your life, and still be worn out by all of it. You can be good at your job and feel like you’re failing at home. Neither one cancels the other.
This is common. It’s also something you can change.
You’re not the only one carrying this
How I work with moms
My style is warm and direct. I’ll listen closely, and I’ll tell you what I’m noticing, including the things your inner critic has said for so long, you’ve mistaken them for facts. You won’t get 50 minutes of nodding.
In our first sessions, we’ll figure out what’s weighing on you most and what you want to feel differently. From there, we’ll sort what’s really yours to carry from what landed on you by default. We’ll work on anxiety and mom guilt directly, and we’ll ask one of my favorite questions: what can we let bounce? Not everything on your list deserves the same energy. Some of it can wait. Some of it can go.
Along the way, we’ll make room for the parts of you that got pushed aside. For a lot of moms, that includes the identity shift that comes with motherhood, the sense that you became everyone’s person and lost track of your own. We’ll work on healthier boundaries, relationship challenges, and anxiety. We’ll also make room for the question that sneaks up on a lot of women: Is this the life I want? We’ll take it seriously without rushing toward an answer.
I use an integrative approach, drawing on CBT, relational therapy, and EMDR, and I fit the mix to you. If a difficult pregnancy or birth is still with you, EMDR, which I’m trained in, may help. I also hold a certificate in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International, so fertility, pregnancy, and the postpartum stretch are familiar ground.
Why me?
I’m a licensed clinical mental health counselor with more than 10 years of experience, and I’m a mom myself. I know firsthand how hard it is to juggle work, home, and everyone’s needs, and I’m not guessing at it from a textbook. I hold certifications in Women’s Mental Health and Maternal Mental Health, and I’ve worked in community mental health, telehealth, a Raleigh non-profit, and a group practice before opening my own studio.
What’s different about working with me?
You’ll get a real person in the room. Warm, direct, and a little sarcastic when it helps, because humor is how a lot of us survive Tuesday.
I won’t hand you a bubble bath and a list of self-care tips. We’ll work on the real stuff. The guilt. The mental load. The version of you that got buried somewhere between drop-off and the 4 p.m. deadline.
Questions?
Here are some common questions mom ask before booking a session, if these don’t cover it, let’s talk in a free 15 minute consultation about the other questions you have.
-
I know. That’s why sessions are 50 minutes, and why you can see me in person at my Raleigh studio or by secure video with no commute. Join from wherever you can find 50 quiet minutes. We want therapy to feel like a relief, not something else on your plate.

You don’t have to be in crisis. If you’re stretched thin, snapping more than you’d like, or running on fumes, that’s enough. You don’t have to figure it all out before you walk through the door.

Taking care of yourself isn’t taking away from the people you love. Sessions are $170 for 50 minutes. I’m out-of-network, and I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. The free 15 minute consultation lets you ask about fees and fit before you commit.
