Hi! I’m Erin

I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Raleigh, NC. I work with individuals and couples, in person in downtown Raleigh and virtually throughout North Carolina.

Your story matters to me, and I’m honored to be invited into it. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy is a relationship. One built on trust, honesty, curiosity, and the desire to work together to build the life that you want.

How I think change happens

Meaningful change comes through connection: with yourself, with the people you love, and in the room with me. We’ll look at your story, the experiences that shaped you, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. We’ll make space for what’s hard and get curious about what’s underneath it.

Two things can be true at the same time. You can feel deeply supported and genuinely challenged here. You can be vulnerable without judgment and have honest conversations without shame. And when your list is a mile long, we’ll ask what can bounce.

What it’s like to work with me

My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I listen closely and ask good questions. I’ll offer an honest perspective, and when I think it could help, I’ll thoughtfully challenge you.

I want therapy to feel like a place where you can exhale and be fully yourself. I also want you to have someone in your corner who’s willing to walk through the hard conversations with you.

Who’s welcome

I’m affirming of all genders and sexualities. My goal is a space where you feel empowered to show up fully as yourself and build the life and relationships that feel most meaningful to you.

Who I work with

Couples. Have you ever rehearsed a conversation with your partner in the shower and then decided it wasn’t worth it? A talk about the dishes turns into something bigger, and one of you goes quiet. You can say what time pickup is, but not what’s actually going on with you. You still care about each other. You just can’t remember the last time you talked without a calendar open.

Women and moms. Are you the one who remembers every appointment, every birthday, and every allergy, and you’re quietly worn out by it? You answered 40 messages before breakfast, packed three lunches, and still feel behind. You eat dinner standing at the counter. You snapped at your kids this morning and have replayed it all day. From the outside, you’ve got it handled. On the inside, you’re grading yourself harder than anyone else would.

If one of these sounds like your week, you’re in the right place.

A little about me

I’m a wife and a mom, so I know firsthand how hard it is to be a working mom. The mental load, the guilt, the sense that you’re always behind somewhere. I’m not guessing at it from a textbook.

I started my career as a third grade teacher, then moved into counseling. I worked in four different settings before opening my own practice, and I’ve loved working with people in that more personal space. What keeps me in this work is simple. I like working with people who are living real life, alongside me. Getting a window into someone’s world is a privilege I don’t take lightly.

I also think being part of a couple’s story is amazing. Watching two people who’ve been stuck start to hear each other again is one of the best parts of my job.

My Credentials

I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and I taught third grade for a few years after graduating. I then earned my master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

I’ve worked as a therapist in a variety of settings. I began in community mental health, then worked at a large telehealth practice, a Raleigh non-profit, and a group private practice before opening my own.

  • EMDR: Trained through EMDRIA, offering evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy.

  • Women’s Mental Health: Certification from [issuing organization], with specialized training in supporting women through [what the training covers].

  • Maternal Mental Health: Certificate from Postpartum Support International, with specialized training in supporting women and couples through fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum.

  • 10+ years of experience drawing on CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, relational therapy, and the Gottman Method.

Outside the office

Most of my free time goes to keeping up with my kids. The rest is spent around Raleigh with friends and family, usually with a classic latte in hand. No flavoring. I’m not here to be talked out of it.

My rescue pitty supervises from the couch and takes the job seriously. Ask me about her and you may get more than you bargained for.
